Contra El Extremismo Y La Violencia Política
"El extremismo en la defensa de la libertad no es un vicio. Y la moderación en la búsqueda de la justicia no es virtud".
Take a Stand Against Extremism and Political Violence
Now, extremism serves as a rallying cry for Christian nationalism, once a fringe viewpoint but now a growing anti-democratic force working to establish a white Christian nation in America where Christians have a presumptive right of dominance in matters of law and public policy.
The Truth About QAnon and Religion
It may sound farfetched, but it is not. QAnon is on the ballot in the 2022 midterm elections.
According to published reports, as of mid-September at least 78 political candidates who ran in the primaries in 28 states believed in QAnon. These individuals competed for governorships, secretaries of state, and seats in both state houses and the US House and Senate. They received substantial airtime on state and national conservative news outlets, and they raked in tens of millions of dollars in campaign donations. More to the point, a number of these QAnon-linked candidates won their primaries and could now win their general election.
Facts anyone?
Today, about 20 percent of white Americans embrace Christian nationalism, an idea that Christians should have unique rights in law and policy. This way of thinking not only goes against Christianity but it dangerous for the country. Here is why:
La verdad sobre el Nacionalismo Cristiano
"Adelante soldados cristianos que marchan como a la guerra, con la cruz de Jesús delante. Cristo, el Maestro real batalla contra el enemigo; Ante la batalla, vean ir sus estandartes".
The Truth About Democracy and the Rule of Law
In his famous Gettysburg address, President Abraham Lincoln said democracy is a rule “of the people, by the people and for the people,” reinforcing a covenant among the early citizens of the United States to govern themselves, under God, in accordance with moral, just principles.
The Truth About Christian Nationalism
“Onward Christian soldiers marching as to war, with the cross of Jesus going on before. Christ, the royal Master leads against the foe; forward into battle, see his banners go.”
The Truth about Truth
Truth, defined by Merriam-Webster’s Dictionary as “the real facts about something,” is never optional.
The truth is what we teach our children at an early age so they will grow up to be honest. It is the reason there are laws requiring public companies to disclose their financial information, the terms of a loan or the details of a contract. And “the whole truth and nothing but the truth” is what we swear on a Bible in court so justice will be done.
